2nd Annual Vampire-Con™

“ . . . LET THERE BE BLOODLUST”

The 2nd Annual Vampire-Con™ Film Festival rises from the grave for three nights from Thursday, June 24 through Saturday, June 26, 2010 at the New Beverly Cinema featuring classic vampire cinema that will make your blood curdle. Costumes are thoroughly encouraged each night: Vampires, Victorian, Edwardian, Steampunk, Bohemian, Tribal and Gypsy. Thursday night features a “Summer of Vampire Love” theme. On Friday the film festival rips open a Spanish flavored vein with co-presenter Latin Horror with “THERE WILL BE SANGRE” and Saturday’s line-up “Saturday Night Vampire Fever” features films from 1979. Let the feeding begin.

HISTORICAL INSPIRATION:
Elizabeth Báthory (1560 - 1614) was a Hungarian countess and possibly the most prolific serial killer in history. Known as the "Blood Countess" or "Countess Dracula," she tortured and killed hundreds of virgin girls and young women, and according to legend, bathed in their blood in order to retain her youth and beauty. In 1610, she was imprisoned in her castle until her death four years later...or so the history books say...
